Founded in 1962, Pro Tem, is Glendon College’s bilingual newspaper, and York University’s oldest student-run publication. Pro Tem was also Ontario’s first newspaper printing articles in both English and French. Pro Tem strives to bring stories, opinions, and reviews that will interest its readership in the Glendon and larger York University community.

Pro Tem is run by a dedicated editorial board comprised mostly of volunteers who spend countless hours envisioning and cultivating the role that our paper has on the campus community. Pro Tem strives to print copy that will encourage a more inclusive community on campus. Furthermore, Pro Tem acts as an agent of social change, and will not print copy that the editorial board deems racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise oppressive.

Getting involved with the paper is easy. Pick up a copy outside of Tim Hortons, the cafeteria or the library. Join us at any of our meetings with dates publicized in the paper. Write an article. Respond to an article you’ve read with a letter to the editor. Submit photography or artwork that you believe the Glendon community would be interested in – the opportunities are endless. Have another idea – a column perhaps? Simply contact us to find out how you can get involved.
